Volunteer at the Bobbo!
A few hours of your time can make a big, BIG difference!
The Bobbin Head Cycle Classic has become a major fundraising event for Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney.
As the official Charity Partner of this annual fundraising event, one very important way in which we can show our appreciation for all the Bobbo does for us is to recruit a team of Lifeline volunteers to help out at the event.
Please help if you can
We need 500 volunteers to assist us with various aspects of running the event. To be specific, we need 400 marshals, 40 drink-stop assistants and at least 60 more volunteers for our various support teams that assist with logistics, signage, the BBQ, hospitality, Karuah Park set-up, etc.
Every task counts, and every volunteer makes a difference.
No specialist skills or knowledge required
Just a few hours on the day of the event (or prior) would be hugely appreciated. Bobbo volunteers don’t need specialist skills or knowledge – just a desire to help and, for road marshals, some basic road sense and road rules awareness. Beyond that, the Bobbo organisers give you all the information and training you will need. In the lead-up to the event, they’ll send you further information and details of your role and location, and you will also have the opportunity to attend an (optional) volunteer briefing session the week before the event.
More marshals needed!
The Bobbo’s primary volunteer requirement is for marshals to direct riders along the ride route. (All you need is a current driver’s licence and an understanding of basic road rules). If you would prefer a different task, please indicate this in the Comment box on the Volunteer Registration form. If you’re helping out at Karuah Park also, no worries – you can still serve as a marshal. Please just indicate this in the Comment box, and the event organisers will allocate you a marshalling role close by so that you can be back at your Karuah Park position by 8am.
Sausage sizzle
All volunteers are invited to come back to the finish village at Karuah Oval in Turramurra after their shift to enjoy a complimentary sausage sizzle.
Know anybody else who could help us?
Do you have friends, family members or colleagues who might also be able to help us by volunteering at the Bobbo? If so, please share this information with them and let them know that signing up could not be easier. And, if you want to volunteer with others, just mention this on the registration form so that you can be positioned alongside your friends on the day. We regret that the opportunities for volunteers under 18 years are limited.

Just go to the Volunteer Registration form page of the BHCC website. Please be sure to write “Lifeline H2H” in the Comment box at the bottom of the registration form, so that the organisation you are volunteering with can be identified, and the organisers can roster you with the Lifeline team and people you know.
Volunteering for the Bobbo really helps Lifeline, and is always a fun and rewarding experience.
