Donate to our shops

Our shops rely on donations of good-quality, clean items to generate funds for our services. If you're moving, downsizing, spring-cleaning or just having a tidy-up, we'd love to hear from you. Whether it's fashion, homewares, collectables and more… donating your new or quality pre-loved goods to our Lifeline shops contributes to a circular economy and allows us to channel profits into purpose. Saving the planet. Saving Lives.

When you donate to our shops, you're not just saving your pre-loved items from landfill,
you're keeping our services running and our community suicide-safe.

Waste not, want not

Have you got something that's too good to throw away? A treasured item you don't need anymore? Clothes that don't fit or the kids have grown out of?

Everything old is new again at our Lifeline H2HS shops, and your good-quality, clean items will help us stock our shelves and fund our life-saving crisis support services.

You can drop clothing items that are clean and in good condition at our clothing bins, or they can be accepted at our Retail Shops. For non-clothing donations, such as homewares, collectables, toys, books, furniture and more; see below for all the details.

What we don't take

We unfortunately can’t accept all donations.

Our customers love clean and excellent condition products, so if the items you are considering donating are not something you would purchase, please consider recycling or disposing of these products yourself.

We do not have the resources to:

  • Wash stained or soiled items
  • Repair damaged items
  • Replace missing parts
  • Recycle garments or rags

If items are stained, mouldy, torn, dirty, broken, or are in any other way damaged, please do not donate them.

We also don't take:

  • Very low price/low quality goods
  • Worn out/stained/damaged/incomplete items
  • New or used underwear
  • Used bedding; including pillows, doonas, mattress covers
  • Mattresses and cots
  • Items requiring safety standard checks; such as, mobility aids, baby equipment, bike helmets and electrical items
  • White goods (ovens, dishwashers)
  • Electrical equipment; such as toasters
  • Computers and software

Our volunteers spend a lot of time processing the donations we receive, and it costs Lifeline money to dispose of goods that can't be re-sold, so please don’t donate anything you wouldn’t pass on to a friend or see at one of our shops.

Thank you for your understanding. We always appreciate offers of donations and your intention to support Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney.
