Book volunteers

Love books? So do we! Our Book Shops and Fairs are one of the most recognisable ways we connect with our community, and it's thanks to our volunteers that our books are the high quality our customers have come to expect.

'I'm always amazed at the commitment and knowledge of our book volunteers,
who provide a great range of books to the community and a steady stream of funding for our services.'

We sell hundreds of thousands of titles each year in a range of categories, so it’s no surprise it takes an army of volunteers behind the scenes to make sure our book donations are sorted, cleaned and ready for sale.

Whether you have specific knowledge in a certain genre of books or just want to help out, we have opportunities at our book depots and shops and would love to hear from you.

Be part of something special

Our book depots are where we sort and clean all our book donations before they are sent to our book shops and fairs, and we rely on our volunteers for a variety of tasks year-round to make this happen.

With book depots in Lindfield and Hornsby, you’ll be giving back to your community, learning new skills and meeting new people, our volunteers enjoy the flexibility of working their own hours and being part of these very special groups – many volunteers have been with us for years!

  • Our Hornsby group meets at Leighton Place in Hornsby on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30am to 2pm.
  • Our Lindfield group meets at the corner of Polding and Ignatius Roads in West Lindfield, Mondays to Thursdays, from 9am to 3pm.

If you’d like more information or would like to enquire about joining our book depot teams, please get in touch by filling out the form below.
