A 15-week group treatment program for hoarding disorder
Do you care for someone with Hoarding Disorder? Click below for the Family as Motivators support group.
- Do you collect stuff, and do you find it difficult to discard stuff?
- Do you want to regain control over your living space?
Let us help you develop strategies and skills to sort, organise and let go of your possessions!
The program utilises a specialised form of cognitive behaviour therapy developed to treat Hoarding Disorder. It aims to build skills to reduce acquiring, increase discarding and improve sorting and organising.
Participants learn to develop these skills to challenge their urge to save their possessions and avoid discarding. Participants remain in control of their possessions at all times. Group treatment can also be supported by individual counselling sessions.
Who’s eligible?
We are looking for participants who have acceptance and motivation to change, are happy to work in a group and have time to commit to the program.
This group is funded by Sydney North Primary Health Network.
